Workload

Determining the correct amount of workload is critical in a safe and efficient working environment.  Our professional consultants have years of education and experience in assessing workload.

Our experts at the Pipeline Performance Group will:

  • Assess current shift work with your Pipeline Operations Crew

  • Sit down with your workers and discuss their shifts, tasks and what, if any, errors occur during their time on the clock

  • Customize the work load for your team to maximize their time with as few errors as possible

Ultimately, we want your Pipeline Operations Crew to operate as a well-oiled machine.

Stress is directly linked with an employee’s work load. By definition, stress is any demand that requires us to adapt our behaviors to match them. In other words, if the work load is too high, the employee will often attempt to work faster to complete a task. This will cause mistakes to occur because the employee does not have the appropriate amount of time in which to complete the work correctly. There is a trade-off between accuracy and speed.  In contrast, if the workload is too low, the workers tend to become complacent and will make errors due to inattentiveness.  Quite simply, they get bored and quit paying attention to the work at hand.
